Please check out the information below to see important dates for you and your 5th grade student regarding their transition to middle school. Please mark these dates on your calendars. 

 

Otwell Middle School Transition Info for 5th Grade Parents:

Welcome to our Otwell family! Our teachers and staff are so excited for you to start the transition to sixth grade. Otwell has several activities and resources to help the current 5th grade students and families successfully transition from elementary to middle school.

February 26, 2026 6:00pm-7:00 pm	Rising 6th Grade Parent Meeting OMS Gymnasium
March 17, 2026 9:15 am	5th Graders tour OMS building with their 5th grade teachers

Vickery Creek Middle School Transition Dates for 5th Grade Parents

Now that the second semester has begun, we're excited to share about upcoming transition events for our rising 6th graders:

Viperpalooza - A fun, family event exploring our building and learning about VCMS. April 21st 6-7:30 pm

5th Grade Tours - Elementary Schools will bring students to VCMS during the school day to see students in action. Week of May 4th - 8th

Viper Camp - Rising 6th graders meet teachers, learn their schedule, and meet new friends! Date: TBA (July 2026)

*If your 5th grader will be attending a middle school other than one of our feeder schools (Otwell or Vickery Middle), please contact the middle school your child will be attending for more transition information and important dates.
